About This Project

„Bumelant“ (En. “The Slacker”, 8’06, Poland, UK 2009) was created from the childhood memory of the time in which communism was buried together with the beloved hamster. It is an image of the director’s generation seen from the perspective of the Slacker, a popular character known from propaganda posters. It is as if we were watching his dream about the end of communism, which in reality came true.

“Bumelant” has toured internationally screening at video dance, video art and film festivals.
